In this problem, we were given a "letter" from our boss stating that they wanted a new design for a soda can box. The only requirement were that it stayed in cardboard and the cans remained cylendicular. Everything else was able to be changed. As an avid soda drinker, this problem really got me interested and my creativity was able to flow through. If I were a consumer, what would I like my boxes to be? I like the general idea of a circle, so I started with that. I assumed that circles can hold a lot of cans depending on the size. Not only that, but I can make them even more aesthetically pleasing by being able to stack them into looking like an even bigger can! Each section would have a tab to open so you can open it from both the side and top for easy accessibility.
I really feel like I was getting creative with this problem and I did enjoy it. I experimented a lot and was able to collaborate on what would be a good setup for the cans. It was fake, unfortunately, but still fun! I also enjoyed the math that came after it and it put a whole new perspective on production of items.
