When you read the title, most people think crayola markers. But this is something way more fun than just a boring ink marker. All we have is 3 red circular place markers, and 3 yellow place markers. With 7 spaces (all outlines to keep track), we try to switch the placement of the markers. Here's the catch: you can't go backwards and you can jump over only one marker. Of course, you can always move a space over without jumping. How many moves does it take? Can there be fewer?
It was here my brain told me to flee this scene quickly. I like games, but this was FRUSTRATING. Think of Super Mario, but without the check marks. Think of trying to complete Pokemon without ever saving.
After many failed attempts and many mistakes with counting, I finally came down 15 moves. That was the simplest I could make the problem. I had also heard 11 floating around, but no one ever rose to the challenge and was able to complete it. I really think this is a time I put my mind to something and stayed persistent with it. Perhaps had I given up, we wouldn't have gotten to that answer. Who knows?
